Media Centre to organize trip to Sweden for Azeri journalists

July 22, 2010. Azerbaijan Media Center (AMC) organizes a study tour to Stockholm for Azeri journalists to observe media coverage of September 2010 Swedish General Elections. During the study tour, journalists will explore elections reporting techniques, meet with Swedish politicians and journalists.
 
With the goal to ensure best eligible candidates participate in the study tour AMC announces story competition in the three main directions:

The first live Internet TV programme in the South Caucasus has started in Azerbaijan.

The programme named "Məncə" ("Methinks") is organized by the Azerbaijan Media Centre and supported by the Open Society Institute - Assistance Foundation.
 

European public broadcasters call for media freedom

Baku, 2 July 2010 – European public service broadcasters meeting in Azerbaijan have called on all governments to respect freedom of expression and freedom of the media. “The right to freedom of expression and information takes precedence over political or economic interests, and States have a duty to ensure and protect this fundamental cornerstone of democracy,” they said in a declaration adopted at a General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union.
 

Values of new media age to be discussed in Baku

June 29, 2010. European Broadcasting Union and the Nordic Public Service Broadcasters in a partnership with Azerbaijan Media Center organize The Values of the New Media Age workshop for journalists and media organizations.
