Rovshan Bagirov is  Public Relations Director, Mass Media Program Coordinator for OSI-AF.

In the early 90th he was promoting youth movements and practiced journalism activities at the post-soviet TV and private information agencies.

Through the years of experience in the realm of civil society support he worked in establishing the office of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (US), Relief International (US), UNHCR.

Rovshan Bagirov has been with the Open Society Institute in Azerbaijan almost from the start. Starting as PR and HR officer, together with other few colleagues, he was involved in building the office activities in Azerbaijan.

Being OSI-AF PR Director he is aimed to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationship between the organization and public, defend the reputation of the foundation and take public interests under consideration.

His role as OSI-AF Mass Media Coordinator is to support and strengthen the independent media in Azerbaijan, improve the professional skills of journalists, provide legal and information support for them.  He also works over communication and PR policy developments, contacts with Press/ NGOs.

He currently involved in a civil society, community development and involvement, NGO capacity building, fundraising.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science.
